Well, it's been a while since I posted. I had a lot of problems for a while – every time I came to my blog, it re-directed me somewhere else. It took a while, but I found out there might have been some gadgets I added that were causing it. I think some hackers get in and then they re-direct you so their site gets more hits. Geeesshh! I had a lot to say, but a lot is old news now.

They Olympics are over and we suffered a bit of withdrawal here for a while. It was so much fun and it really brought a sense of community to the area. The patriotism, the way BC-ers embraced the visitors, the overall behaviour of everyone – made me proud to be a Canadian. I did manage to scrap another page - this time a double-spread of the Olympic experience here in Vancouver. This is what I created:

I used a few different kits here from some of my favourite designers. The background paper and art was created by myself. I used bits from some kits of Scrap Orchard designers – SuzyQ Scraps, Jady Day Studio, Irene Alexeeva, Amanda Heimann, Lindsay Riches and Faith True. Some word art was by Elegant Word Art by Bethany. From GDS I used pieces from JJ Scrapping's – Springy.

I've been quite busy with freelancing lately and haven't scrapped quite as much as I would like, but there's a few kits I've worked with lately that I wanted to share with you.

Verena Designs has a few gorgeous kits out right now. First there's her Teddy Bear Dreams which you can get here at Go Digital Scrapbooking or here at Digital Scrapbook Art. She has quick pages that go with them and bundles as well. She quite often does frame clusters and they are so great to get started with creating a page. You really must check it out.

I had fun with this kit and here's a few pages I created with it:

She also has a great Spring kit out that's chalk full of some pretty papers and gorgeous elements called Blooming Springtime. You can get it here at GDS or here at Digital Scrapbook Place. Look at all you get in this fun kit!

Here's a page I created with this kit:

The most recent kit from Verena is so gorgeous. It's a wedding kit and with Spring right around the corner, wedding season is fast approaching. This would be a fabulous kit to scrap all your wedding memories to keep for the ages. You can find A Beautiful Wedding Day  here at GDS and here at Digital Scrapbook Art:

I created two pages from this kit of my daughter's friend's wedding she was in last year and here they are (the photo mask here is by Birgit Kerr):

Now, there's lots going on over at Go Digital Scrapbooking. I was selected for a second term to be a part of the Supreme Team. There's lots of great gals with tons of enthusiasm over there. We've all prepared some really great challenges for the month of April. You really must check them out here.

I'm hosting the Scraplift Challenge this month and here's the page that will be scraplifted. If you like the looks of this page, head on over! There's always the daily freebie you can download so make sure you check it out.

Here are a few more pages I created from some GDS kits and some were for challenges:

Kit is Marble Mocha by Tricia Curtis at GDS. I loved the papers in this kit.

Here's a page I created from a kit by Marshmella DesignsMuddy Puddles:

These two pages were created from a couple more kits by Verena Designs. Her kits are always so much fun to work with. Lots of papers and great elements to choose from. The first page is from her kit Fresh Into Spring. The second is from her gorgeous kit Tweet Tweet Sweet

I created this page for the March Colour Challenge at GDS:

Then I entered a couple of contests – the first is a template challenge sponsored by Chrissy W. I rarely use a template, probably 1 out of every 10 pages, but there's more and more great templates out there and if you don't have a lot of time, they work pretty good. However, I very rarely stick to it! Here's what I did for it:

And I entered this to win a Wacom pen tablet (I didn't win, there were some gorgeous layouts there, some really professional looking pages). The theme was to pick 10 things you love. The Olympics were on at the time, so I chose to do "10 Things I Love About Vancouver". That was tough, because I had a really lonnngggg list!

Here are a couple more pages from one is from a GDS monthly collab kit (always free with a $10 purchase):

And this is one of my favourites – a picture of my daughter. The background paper is from Vinnie Pearce. She's one of my favourite eclectic designers. Word art by Bethany.

Okay, that's about it for now. I've got to get working on a freebie challenge bonus for my Scraplift Challenge at GDS. Enjoy your day!

  1. Your PM box at GDS is full so I am posting this here:

    Darlene,

I had no idea you were such a talented designer. The kit and extra papers look fabulous!! Are you selling anywhere?

I actually just got hired on as a designer at DesignsinDigital, but I would love to be a GDS designer one day. I have been hanging out here since I started scrapping so it would seem like a natural fit. Maybe one day.

Thanks for hosting the bingo game and for sharing your designs with us!

    Stacie

P.S. I am giving away a free mini-kit to anyone who fans my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/lotte-line-design/364876238628 or follows me on Twitter http://twitter.com/stacielcm this weekend. Hint, hint!
